Bike Society

Bike Society is a leading retailer of cycling products in Australia. Initially a bricks and mortar only model, Bike Society ventured into eCommerce in 2018.

The initial website was a simple WooCommerce store providing an easy way to launch quickly and start generating revenue. Fast forward a few years and Bike Society was getting good traffic and revenue but the site performance was suffering while the UX left a lot to be imagined.

Bike Society faced a tipping point when trying to grow using WooCommerce. The goal was to increase revenue through improved site performance and better user experience but this seemed impossible on a traditional WooCommerce install.

Bike Society worked closely with their digital agency to design and build a Headless eCommerce solution which enabled focus on building a super performant frontend with an intuitive user experience.

Effort was placed on creating a custom checkout experience which supported a unique flow for shipping restrictions and Click & Collect to accommodate for different customers and products. The HeadKit custom checkout provided the user multiple payment methods including, Apple Pay, Google Pay and popular BNPL options.

Bike Society has seen a measurable shift in site performance, user experience and ultimately a significant increase in both transaction volume and value. The improved user experience has resulted in a dramatic boost in customer satisfaction and loyalty. The streamlined checkout process and responsive design have contributed to a notable decrease in cart abandonment rates, contributing to higher conversion rates and increased revenue.

The implementation of the Headless eCommerce solution with Stripe returned an unprecedented revenue increase. We look forward to iterating and improving the checkout experience even further, keeping Bike Society at the forefront of online commerce.
